Let’s head to Tortuga Jacks for some tropical drinks and live music on their deck overlooking the beach!

About Kristy and Richard

A Massachusetts girl and a Georgia boy crossed paths in Philadelphia and were never the same again. They met while pursuing a Master of Architecture degree at the University of Pennsylvania (or rather suffering through countless late nights in studio). After months of loitering at each others desks, Richard and Kristy were the last to realize they actually liked each other.

Their first “date” was when Richard took a detour on his way to Thailand for the summer. Rather than fly straight from Atlanta to Bangkok in 24 hours, he took a detour through Philly consisting of two extra flights and two bus rides to/from New York, (12 extra hours of travel). It was totally worth it, though, for a dinner date at Rex 1516, homemade strawberry shortcake, and 8 bonus hours with Kristy.

Kristy graduated with her degree in 2015 and decided to stick around while Richard finished his a year later. She moved into the rowhome next door to Richard on Waverly Street and adopted Rocko to keep her company while Richard earned his second Masters in Landscape Architecture. Since then, housing arrangements have shuffled a bit, but Kristy and Richard (and Rocko) are still living it up in the same Waverly rowhome.

After time dragged on, Richard finally got around to asking Kristy to marry him. After a fake-out trip to New Orleans, he popped the question on Anna Maria Island in May of 2019 with a custom ring the two of them designed together.

They’re now planning what will be the best party of their lives (probably yours too) and can’t wait to see you there!
